Abstract

In the realms of electronics, energy storage, and quantum information processing, among many others, emerging quantum materials hold the promise of previously unseen functions and characteristics. new advances in the field of developing quantum materials, including their synthesis, characterisation, and device applications. We go over a number of synthesis processes, covering both bottom-up and top-down approaches, including molecular beam epitaxy and chemical vapor deposition. For a better grasp of these materials' electrical, optical, and structural characteristics, characterization techniques including scanning probe microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and spectroscopic methods are needed. We also discuss the possible future uses of developing quantum materials in devices, such as field-effect transistors, photodetectors, quantum dots, and quantum wells, emphasising their promise for advancements in optoelectronic and electrical technology. The entire potential of quantum materials for revolutionary technological advancements is yet to be realized, but researchers are working to improve synthesis and characterization methods while utilizing these materials' distinctive characteristics.
