Spectroscopy is a fundamental group of analytical techniques used to investigate the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter. Spectroscopic methods provide information about molecular structure, elemental composition, chemical bonding, concentration, and physical properties. Techniques such as ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, atomic spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry-related spectrometric methods have become essential across chemical research and industrial analysis. This paper examines nine major dimensions of spectroscopy in modern chemical analysis, including basic principles, molecular identification, quantitative analysis, structural characterization, elemental analysis, environmental applications, pharmaceutical analysis, materials characterization, and emerging spectroscopic technologies.
