Abstract

This study aims to explore the determinants of psychological quality of life in the University environment as a proof of individual’s well-being and as an indicator of the efficiency of academic environment. The research focuses on the qualitative shift in psychological studies moving from merely diagnosing disorders to enhancing well-being and life satisfaction. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach benefiting from “ Diener’s” model of personal well-being and “Ryff’s” model of psychological well-being to identify factors influencing students’ psychological quality of life. The research seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical applications through positive interventions involving psychological support programs and the enhancement of adaptation skills.

The study concludes that improving psychological quality of life in Algerian universities requires an integrated institutional project that combines assessment, prevention, and sustainable interventions, engaging all stakeholders within the academic community to ensure a supportive environment that fosters both students’ psychological development and social well-being.
